Blessings and Salutations, My People! How are you feeling?

Be aware! I haven't been here for you and I apologize. I've been busy enjoying life's moments and avoiding choking the shit out of people. That's life, right? LOL A lot of time went by so I'm going to try to encapsulate this period in my life...

I started my April off motivated, resilient, serene and saddened... Motivated because I'm making moves on my terms, getting what I work for and reaping the benefits of being on my job. I'm resilient because no matter what obstacles life puts in front of me, I run right through them. Serene yet saddened because I miss my father and maternal grandmother, who were born this month, April 23rd and 20th, respectively. My grandmother passed away on April 11th, 1984 at the ripe old age of 84. My father died at the riper age of 92. I know Frances and Frank are having a blast together in Heaven. They deserve the best, even in the Afterlife. I love and miss them crazy! I can see both of them tellin me...

I haven't seen my cousin David since I went to his surprise birthday party in Brooklyn, last year. I met his girlfriend and saw his older sister's children. We had a sort of mini reunion and I was so glad to see he was doing well with a good woman raising him up. On Friday, April 10th, they had their engagement party at Silver Spoons in Brooklyn. We had a really good time and her family is really good people. They're supportive of this union, as am I. Congratulations to you both!

Saturday, April 11th, my girl, Megan had her annual birthday party with DJ Evil Dee spinning at Hope Garage. She started this tradition a while ago. I still have pics from her party in 2006 in Williamsburg on Grand St with Evil on the wheels. We had lots of fun and we had dranks! I'm glad Megan had a great time! Salute to Dolores and Hope Garage for facilitating the party! Happy healthy blessed birthday, Megan! I'm glad you liked your gifts! Rest in Paradise, Nana!

The next day I made sure I had a few Balance ~ Wearable Art items available for my friend, Talia, for her fundraiser at Drom. She was celebrating the life of her good friend Ed, who passed away. There were several DJs and performers that were awesome and the audience and raffle drawing was fun. It was a great night. Excellent job, Talia!!!

REST IN PARADISE, ED!

I spent Monday with my grandchildren and it was awesome! My GrandSun, Johari, had me playing Dragon Ball Z on Playstation 3. I had to call my Sun to the livingroom to remind me of the characters because we, (me and my children), were Dragon Ball heads. We watched the series on cable and purchased VHS DragonBall movies in Japanese with Chinese subtitles. Now that my Sun speaks fluent Japanese, he told me that the characters of DragonBall all had Chinese names of silly stuff.

(For example, the character Bulma's name in Japanese means bloomers and she had a daughter named, Bra; or fighter YamCha's name could refer to Dim Sum in Chinese or Japanese; Tien Shin Han is a pun on the Chinese word for fried rice, etc).

My granddaughter, Jayla, was very attentive and listened very well today. She ate most of her lasagne and she danced and laughed with me. My grandbabies are so beautiful and so intelligent! I'm so proud to have had babies who have babies like the ones I raised. The feeling is overwhelming sometimes... These pics are of them while their father tickles them. I am truly blessed and highly favored!

Tuesday, I went downtown Brooklyn to the Farmer's Market where I usually buy my organic produce when the weather breaks. I purchased a few seedlings but not as many as I normally get.

I knew I was going to the Beatminerz Radio, afterwards. When I got to the studio, I got a lot of work done and I stayed for Da Gully Show. It was good to see the fam and listen to the show. I met their guest, Isaiah, an MC from South Jamaica, Queens and thoroughly enjoyed hanging with Da Gully Team. Salute!! #SameTeam!

My children and grandbabies, my art and music, my business, my creative outlets are my purpose! I wor hard for them everyday and they motivate me.

Wednesday, April 15th, I went to listen, talk and laugh with the Beatminerz Radio personalities because Wednesday is always hype with Cyn City and Mami Chula. Mr Walt is always a scream during both shows. Then Baz and Carmen closed out the evening. Thank you all!

BAZARRO AND CARMEN

Thursday was a bit of a nightmare but I woke up from it by the God hour, 7pm. My broken phone was inoperable (again) and the Internet in my home was down. Luckily, it came back on in time to conduct a google chat meeting for some future work I'm doing. The Most High is ALWAYS on time!

April 17th will always be a blessed day for me. My Sun, Koyami Saiyd turned 24 today and I can't be more proud of him. He's been an honor student all of his life, making him eligible for admission into prestigious schools for higher learning. He has no children but a great disposition with them and a desire to assist anyone who may need it. I raised him but he was away at school for 8 years, so he raised himself from 14 to 22. I would come up to his HS in Concord MA and when he attended Oberlin College to maintain his locks. But his junior year, when he went to Japan as a boarding student, I couldn't. He made due. He's sharp, clever, scholastic, handsome, fun to be around and an asset to my family, my race and society. If I've done nothing in my life, I know I'm a damn good mother. I Love you, Yami! Happy Healthy Blessed Bearth Strong! And a crazy Happy Birthday to my nephew Marquis Ali Coad. I hope you both enjoyed your day!

Later on, I went to Beatminerz Radio, where I usually spend my Wednesdays and Fridays for great music, enlightening conversation, intellectual cyphers, good people and fun with family.

TOONCES WAS GETTING HIS MACK ON ALL DAY.
AT LEAST 3 'KITTENS' CAME THROUGH TO THE BACKYARD TO CALL HIM.

April 18th, Saturday I cleaned more of my vinyl. (Yes! I'm still cleaning vinyl. I have a life and sometimes I need to take a break to do things like cook, eat, garden, and enjoy my grandchildren, thank you!) This is the remaining pile of twelve inches in need of an alcohol scrub.

DONE!

...and the 315 45s in a box. I'm almost done. smh...

Later on, Voodoo Ray had a birthday party at Santos! DOPE!! Note to aspiring DJs: When you decide to DJ a party, regardless of what equipment you use, BRING WHAT YOU NEED TO DJ! Don't ask other DJs for their slip mats, their needles or their headphones. A big part of DJing is having your own equipment to successfully DJ the party. Think of it as you being the only DJ rocking. If you don't have needles, you're not spinning...unless you brought your controllers or CDJs. Also, make sure you can mix, blend and supply a good amount of cohesiveness throughout your musical set. You should not be throwing on random joints to let everyone know you have music. If you don't have a style with which to present your dope music, it doesn't really matter what you spin... IJS!

THE BEAUTIES: CYNTHIA AND SINNAMON LOVE

MAMA WIZE AND MY FAV COMEDIAN, D-STROY

My Sunday was low key and productive until I got a new sack of drama from my landlord. I have a meeting next week with my landlord and a few lawyers. They are bugging and I'm so ready to stop the madness. They are doing everything in their power to get my 3 bedroom apartment so they can raise the rent to double, even triple the market price. I've been in the same apartment since 1978.

It's a Mitchell-Lama building and in NYC, that means it's affordable. What the hell do they want from me? The rent is paid in full! They've raised it over 7 times in the last 12 years. Somebody fix NY so it doesn't eat up it's natives. I understand why people move down south but that's not where I'm from. It's cool to visit, but I like 24 hour transportation. I love after hours spots and 24 hour diners. I love the DJs and night life even though it sucks now, compared to the 1990s. I'm a Brooklyn Queens girl! That's where my heart is and remains.

April 20th is a great day in my life because the only grandparent I ever knew was born. Frances Laverne Martin was born in 1900 and raised two exceptional children, my mother, Constance and my uncle, Ernest. (Two very important words to me: constant and earnest). She made sure they were well educated and had a solid head on their shoulders. It's also my niece, Raven's birthday, today. May you both be blessed today and everyday on this plane and up in Heaven. Rest in Paradise, Nana! Happy healthy Blessed birthday to both of you! I hope you enjoyed yourself, Raven. I love you!

It was a good day. I got some paperwork together for my upcoming meeting with my landlord's lawyers and I had a great day with my grands. I was supposed to watch them but after the birthday party they attended, their dad was able to keep them. So I went to the EMC debut at SOB's. It was dope! They shut it down!

It was great seeing you Mecca! Your mom's the bomb! And Sadat X, thank you for the love. It was a pleasure to see Wordsworth, Masta Ace, Mr. Stricklin and Power Malu get it in on some old school Real Hip Hop ish. Starting my week off on a good note... No burn for 4-20-15 but have a Happy one, y'all!

After SOBs, I had planned on going to check legendary DJ Todd Terry at Mobile Mondays because it's free and he's Dope! He has a ridiculous catalog of music; it's bananas. I saw Operator Emz, Snkr Joe, my #TeamNOSleep brother, Breakbeat Lou, DJ Eric L Beats, Kenny Dope and his beautiful wife, Jen. Good to see you, again! I also saw Sid Locks, who still owes me video footage from forever ago. You have my number, Sid. I suggest you use it, asap!

DJs BREAKBEAT LOU AND TODD TERRY

I was offered one of my favorite shots, Patron Cafe... it was a triple shot because it took forever to get down, but I did it! Then, the piece de resistance... I saw Mona Bode, great artisitc, Aquarian sister of mine, erotic poetry Queen and she's producing her upcoming TV show! Congratulations, Mama Mona! I really should have stayed til it closed but I took advantage of a ride home...

I've decided after this upcoming performance that I will not be performing, again, until I have at least half my album done. I can't keep breaking up my concentration to get ready for shows. If it's a worthy cause and I'm requested, cool,  but I really need to focus.

Tuesday, I had to get some music and stayed for Da Gully Team Show and we had a good time. DJ Redboy played the joint I'm on with Makeba Mooncycle from the Broadcasting Live Mixtape, entitled, "Can't Say Goodbye". He also played my Gully Team drop. For some reason, Crazy DJ Bazarro felt the need to 'shit on my drop', talkin bout, "It's a prank!" He's hilarious! Check my IG for his shenanigans! The whole team had me laughing the whole show!

I was glad I got to Beatminerz Radio yesterday, because my show at Brooklyn Nights was April 22nd. Same day as the benefit for Graham Oliver at Santos, (Rest In Peace). I was surprised to see the bar and the tables filled at Brooklyn Nights when I arrived. The show was dope. All the artists brought something to the table... some more than others but what can you do. When the producer tells you what he needs, I'm sure he expects the performers to follow suit, but to each his own. When I got to the door, family was at the gate...

It was so busy on and off the stage this particular night: live art by Gabbie Giftsz, and live body art by Nichole with model, Ahmadi.

I appreciated the show Josh Jacobs put on. His cadence, content, command of the stage was a breath of fresh air. His people accompanied him for a joint or two, but only after he took off his shirt for the ladies. Ok, Josh. Thank you! :)

I had Balance Body Scrubs on display with Thundaground tees and merchandise. Support Hip Hop! Support Good Health! Support us! Thank You!

Michinko sang her song called Masturbation. Yes! She held the audiences attention when she explained how you activate your kundalini by shaking yourself. You know I had to get up with Lady Dee and shake to see if it was true. She gave me a 'Yoko Ono Walking On Thin Ice' type of vibe with the song, but the music was dope for a House tune. She said she made the song 10 years ago. Respect Tha God told her he'd release it on his label. It would sell.

Donna aka Lady Dee blessed the mike with a poem called Stuck between a Dick and a Hard Place...Hilarious. She sang a song called 50 Shades of Black and did a freestyle rhyme accompanied by the MC Optometrist from Shaolin, Staten Island. Her other poem about limp dicks was not welcomed by the men in the house but the ladies wanted to hear it. We laughed and dudes put their heads down. I just met her two days ago at SOBs on the guest list line. We both were at the EMC debut.

A little open mic flavor with Takima Lorraine singing, Sorry! She sounded lovely. That song was requested by Respect Tha God. Check IG for that.

Smokeahontas got on the mic and rhymed about the chronic, with background vocals from Davina. When I saw Davina at the bar, I kept thinking she looked crazy familiar. Come to find out, it was Davina from Loud Records with the hit, "So Good", back in the day. I have pictures of her performing at Wetlands for Black Lily, circa the late 90s. Check my IG for their collabo...

My brain was on freeze all day. I couldn't remember anything I'd written. I went up on stage with paper... a first and a last, but the crowd enjoyed my verses and they loved my music. (Thanks, E!) I did Dreams of Sunshine since other people weren't staying to the erotic theme, but Dreams is definitely about the spiritual, mental and physical connection between two people.

Gabbie Giftsz is the artist who drew this incredible pic that night. She was also rhyming on stage... very appropriately, I might add. The whole audience was singing her choruses. You go girl! Check the IG clip.

OMEGA CIPHERELLA B ON THE OPEN MIC!

The cypher outside after the show was crazy! I started off talking about a pastor asking his congregation for $65,000,000 and it went on from there. Just coming in to continue the energy, same basic thesis, coherent, relevant and just plain Hip Hop. Takima even joined in the cypher and she's a singer, but she freestyled with me and Omega B like it wasn't nothing. We had a great night!

The next day, I felt a little out of sync because it was my father's birthday. He would have been 97 years old. It seems like we buried him yesterday. I'll never forget the smirk on my face when they lowered his body into the ground. I was happy because he was finally out of pain and under no obligation to take care of anyone, anymore. His last years were not to his liking and he told me. His best years were with my mother. He told me that, too.

I even though I tried to take custody of him, so he could live comfortably in his later years, but someone else had Power of Attorney over all of his matters. I was sorry I couldn't get him into my home where he would've been safe and cared for respectfully in his own room with an elevator, a terrace and room to move and breathe. I didn't know he had cancer until after his burial. Karma's a bitch! Those who did not take the time to keep him healthy while taking his money and keeping me out of his cypher, will suffer. I guarantee it. Not by my hand though... God don't like ugly and he has a special place for people who dishonor their parents. I truly believe that. I honor you, Daddy and I will always love and cherish you! I remember all that you've done for me and all you have taught me. As your Baby, I will continue to represent you!

DADDY ON VACATE WITH MY MOM IN THE BAHAMAS

Friday, I went to see my lawyer about this landlord bullshit. Of course, everything is adjourned. So I proceeded to Beatminerz Radio. I got more information regarding tees, upcoming shows and upcoming projects. There's always something to learn from seasoned DJs. I appreciate the Friday line up and the Chatroom participation. BMZ has the dopest chatroom on UstreamTV. I never spoke to people online before the Beatminerz Chatroom and I must say I enjoy the comraderie, the jokes, the support and the general family vibration. While I was there, I was admiring my nails...

I FELT KINDA SPECIAL SO I ADDED SOME COLOR TO MY FINGERS!

I had planned on going to Frank's because I usually go on Friday's to hear House music. DJ Sylk was spinning on Friday, but I decided I'd take the time to get some rest. He usually spins on Saturday, so I'll check him out tomorrow.

I stayed home all day, Saturday, cleaning, completing lots of administrative work, sorting photos and video on my computer, going through physical pictures and potting my new seedlings which have grown out of their initial containers.

Later on that night, I went to Frank's Lounge for Tyrone and Terry's Birthday party. DJ Evil Dee was in the building and him and DJ Sylk had me crying, all night. The jokes, the voices, the scenarios, with and without Ed, was hilarious. But Sylk had the party rocking.

TYRONE PERKINS, ONE OF THE BIRTHDAY MEN!

Tyrone decided to do one blend, which was dope, and he got off the turntables. Nice to see the people who run Frank's get down and chill with their crowd. I didn't go upstairs until damn near 3am. DJ Kervyn Mark was upstairs working the floor. I saw so many great people that I don't get to see anymore. Hopefully, when the weather really breaks, we'll be able to chill and dance these nights away. I ran into more heads, upstairs and danced my ass off for the rest of the night.

When it was over, we got some coffee and went home. So glad to get in my bed, at the God hour, 7am. I'm only 13 minutes away from Frank's. It was Tyrone and Terry's birthday party. Did you really think it was going to be over at 4am?

Sunday I took the time to rest and complete the assignment I started April 9th: my GoFundMe page to expand Balance ~ Wearable Art. I've been doing what I love through my company but I need some new equipment. Six years of wear and tear has taken it's toll. Please donate, so we can continue to adorn you. Thank you!

Woke up this morning to wait for the inspector to come look at my bathroom. Some falling tile, but as long as they take care of it, no worries.

My homegirl, Jendog, teaches a Hip Hop and Lyricism class at a charter school and she asked me if I could sub for her while she was completing a mini tour... Hell yeah! So I leave my house to get a cup of coffee across the street for my lil journey and I see this in clear view for all to see...

When did Williamsburg need advertisements for beer when you can't step to a new block without passing a bar? I don't think that should be there; IJS. But I got my coffee and proceeded to the school. The day was beautiful. I took the G train, which is what Hotstop instructed but the walk from Bedford and Nostrand to the school was crazy. So glad it was a nice day! As I'm walking I'm noticing the half gentrified Bed Stuy. Wow!

WORD? ON NOSTRAND AND DEKALB?

THESE RESIDENCES WERE ON NOSTRAND
A FEW BLOCKS UP FROM DEKALB

There was no traffic so my walk was much more enjoyable. So enjoyable, I started catching scenes... walking down Nostrand Avenue.

It looked like it would rain but not a drop fell. The weather was gorgeous. I got to the school 45 minutes early. I was admiring the school grounds, inside and out...

This caught my eye; right outside the room for Hip Hop and Lyricism. Great words for our youth from a legend. My students did well, MC Sky Brown and MC Emzz. They know what Real Hip Hop is and they're not fond of the foolishness on the radio, currently. I videotaped them doing the 16 bars they wrote. They both have potential. I was proud to be a part of their Hip Hop journey at Leadership Prep. I appreciate their outlook especially their young but clear perceptions of music, and what they want to do with their lives: Be productive and intelligent! these are our future leaders and they deserve all the respect and opportunities that are available. It's best to learn at a young age to strengthen your aura and become someone who is proud of themselves. More adults should think like them...

While finally celebrating 4-20, a week late, in East New York with my Fam, I was watching the basketball game and switching to Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. She showed a timeline on her show on Monday, April 27 that showed black men who have been severely beaten, paralyzed and murdered in police custody since 2014. I was informed that over 200 black men have been the victims of white police brutality in 2015, nationwide. It's only April. I thought of and the young men I know and how I couldn't imagine dealing with anything like this. I couldn't stop crying.

Rachel Maddow explained that the riots started the day Freddie Gray's family buried him. The video showed Freddie Gray being hemmed up by 3 white police overseers and then arrested. He was dragged to the paddy wagon because he couldn't walk and he was screaming in pain. He was already a victim of police violence. He was forcibly pushed into the paddy wagon because it was clear he couldn't get in without the police pushing him in. He had what the police call a 'rough ride'.

A rough ride is when the police handcuff a suspect from behind, put them in the back of the paddy wagon, unsupervised and don't strap the suspect in. Strapping them in would keep them stationary during the ride. No one was in the back of the paddy wagon with Freddie Gray and he was not strapped in. As a result, he was thrown in the air back and forth, while the police officer accelerates and abruptly stops, makes ridiculously wild turns while Freddie Gray's body flails through the air and crashed from on side of the paddy wagon to the other. He came out of the paddy wagon with his spine 80% severed, almost in half, and his windpipe crushed. The imprint of a bolt in the metal wall was in his head.

He was then brought into a hospital where hidden video shows the police officers giving each other fist bumps for a job well done. They even made fun of him by impersonating his body laying limp. These dirty pigs are truly disgusting, savages. If you don't see anything wrong with this scenario, then you, are part of the problem. The officers even had the nerve to say he did it to himself. GTFOH!! These acts are horrible, tragic, inhumane and disrespectful, to say the least.

The government let off the NYPD officers that killed Ahmadou Diallo with 41 bullets while standing in front of his residence. It was ok that the LAPD beat Rodney King for no reason. No one gave a damn that Sean Bell was killed for no reason the day before his wedding by the NYPD. It was ignored that an 'illegal choke hold' was used to kill an innocent Eric Garner while he stated 11 times that he couldn't breathe, while police smashed his head into the concrete and held his hands and legs down. More NYPD deadly force tactics. Tell me who didn't see that, yet no convictions... smh When did any of these police officers feel threatened? When will justice prevail? This is clearly and unequivocally institutionalized racism!

When will you law abiding citizens who supposedly work for the Department of Education, Department of Investigations and Department of Corrections make a move to convict and punish police officers who commit crimes against the people they are supposed to show courtesy, professionalism and respect to? Most of these 'cops' have rap sheets for indecent and despicable behavior prior to these incident that put them in the limelight of the media. Why aren't they fired?

The young rookie who mistakenly killed Mr Gurlie in the stairwell got no love. He was the 'shut-the-people-up-scapegoat". But the cops who do the heinous crimes are still walking the streets with badges, guns and paychecks. This new information lets me know that this has been going on before we had video and we, black and brown people, are still not safe out here from the 'law enforcers'.

AmeriKKKa is a haven of dishonest, hateful, inferior-minded, lying, deceitful, unprofessional, disrespectful, cheating people who hold office to govern the people and or carry badges to enforce laws they don't even follow. I need you, President Obama, to make a move! I need you, President Obama, to say and do something. There is a war on Black men by white police officers and you, Mr. President, need to make a major move and fix this or there will most definitely be a war going on outside nobody's safe from or ready for, you feel me? By the way...

Are these wanna-be overseers tested for mental health issues? They seem to have a history of being out of their damn minds! I FEEL the officers who are clearly the reason for the causes of injuries, paralysis and death should: 1) pay the full cost of the medical bills, lifelong maintenance and or the funerals for the person they beat, paralyzed or killed; 2) mandatory reissue of half their pension to the beaten or paralyzed victim or the entire pension to the family of the dead victim; 3) after a full and thorough investigation by a civilian-run investigation team consisting of at least three-fourths black and brown people collaborate in conjunction with the Department of Investigations, the guilty parties should be fired immediately and permanently banned from doing any law enforcement job in any state in the United States. That's how you stop this bullshit with the government's approval. There are several ways to stop it without it but let's start here for right now...

You CANNOT try to re-institute modern day slavery by calling it Marshall Law. I guess you forgot that movie "V". You CANNOT consistently kill off our black and brown people and think we shouldn't and won't react to it. This ain't the slavery days. Defiance to the violence will only create more violence, especially when initiated by injustice in the 'law' by so-called 'law enforcement'.

Sorry! I don't believe you can combat these kinds of atrocities with love and turning the other cheek. You CANNOT lynch, beat, kill, lie and over power us, anymore. When you dirty fucking cops stop killing our people, we'll stop acting the fool. Because that's what we're doing. We're reacting with anger and destruction and the consequences only hurt us, because we're destroying OUR neighborhoods. I understand, totally, but we cannot continue this line of reaction.

I had to argue with my dude because he kept saying we don't own the things that burned down, so it doesn't matter. I had to school him. I don't own my building but if it's burned down, I'm homeless. I was told that a senior center was burned down in Baltimore. Where do the seniors go now? Was it their residence? Where do they lay their heads down tomorrow night? You feel like burning things down? Burn down the fucking police precinct! I know it's almost impossible, but to burn down your neighborhood is not long term thinking. It's reactionary and not well thought out. We suffer at the end of the day. Everybody else gets to go home. And we still get more time in jail for burning down a building than a cop gets for killing someone. What part of the game is that? Exactly... it's not a game at all!

Think people! Critically and Strategically! Organize! I didn't say march or protest! I mean support the Mom and Pop stores in your hood. Buy Black and Brown. Take care of the elderly in the hood. Make sure the youth know their history as Kings and Queens. Make them want to strive to be better than what they see. You know who the enemy is, and it's not all white people. We've had enough white people who empathize and help us push towards an end to racism. We've had traitors who infiltrate our good works and cause nothing but chaos, who look like us. So be very careful when you say and do things, especially now. We have MUCH work to do, but it must be done!

Is there anyone who made over a million dollars in the last 5 years, entertainer or athlete, New Black or revolutionary, going to speak up about this? Are any of you going to donate to the rebuilding of Baltimore? Detroit? Any country in Africa plagued by famine or drought? Has anyone offered any of the victims of police violence, a helping hand or a listening ear? Have anyone of you asked about the 200 girls who were kidnapped not so long ago? You want us to buy your music and go see your movies and check you out at sporting events, though. Get your head and heart right, entertainers! It's not just 'our' problem and you can get caught out there, too. I guess when the cats that sign your checks decide you can't make them anymore money, we'll see you make a real move, huh? Shameful that you don't speak up or help with all the influence you have over your people. Thank you, Prince Rogers Nelson for your upcoming concert for Baltimore. You've always been on point. I appreciate that!

AND THANK YOU, NIPSEY HUSTLE!

Days later... Thank you for making a statement and creating an initiative, President Obama. I appreciate the effort but you know you need to do some heavy lifting before you leave office. Whether it's to heave ho somebody out of their job (cops and politicians) or get your weight up to knock somebody out! And very much thank you, Mrs. Marilyn J. Mosby for your immediate response to the murder of Freddie Gray and the actions you took in only 12 days. In NYC, Bill Bratton says the same things going on in his city will be handled by the country's new Attorney General, Loretta E. Lynch. Investigations regarding Eric Garner are now being investigated 12 months after the fact, even with video footage. He sucks and until NYPD stops these senseless killings, they suck too! Of course not all of them. I know some great cops! I'm not referring to these bastards...

You can find out their names and their charges on the link above. I refuse to put their names up but I was devastated that there were three black officers. I was more mortified to see there was a woman involved. She must not be a mother. Sad state of affairs when your badge dictates your behavior and your thoughts of entitlement. Did any of you think what you were doing was immoral or heinous or just plain irresponsible? This scum and all other police like them who feel they can kill at will because they carry a gun and a badge and prey on black and brown neighborhoods and their residents are a real problem and need to be first, fired immediately. I'm ecstatic that they are all going to prison! They deserve at least that. And let this be a new precedent in the law to be followed by every state in AmeriKKKa.

God's Blessings and Prayers to the families of all the police officers who are senselessly murdered. No one said it was fair or justified for them to lose their lives, regardless of the way some rogue cops perform. It's just as terrible for them to lose their lives as it is anyone else. My rant is not for the cops who do their job correctly and respectfully every day. Please don't get it twisted!

Tuesday, April 28th I had an appointment with an Administrative Law Judge but that very morning, I received word about my lawyer on Friday. I was able to adjourn my conference until after my consultation with my lawyer in May. Later that night, my stove wouldn't turn off, even though it was turned off. The gas was coming out of the oven and started to stink up my house. I had maintenance unhook my gas line and now I have no stove to cook, boil, grill, sautee, broil, stew, fry or bake anything. DAMMIT!!

I missed a doctors appointment because I got caught up finishing a prelude I wrote for a friend's thesis. I do that, too. I write critiques of artwork and books. I write biographies for artists and I help a few of my collegiate homies with some wordage every now and again for their senior projects.

Since Beatminerz was starting late today, I went on over to chill with my people. We had a good day! I began untwisting my twists. You know you can't leave locks braided or twisted for long. They will begin to lock up to that thickness. I'm happy with my locs' thickness. I cut my locs up to my ears last March. I'm seems to be growing nicely...

Evil and Baz tore it down, musically! Thanks for playing me and Makeba's joint, Baz. And salute to the chatroom for giving me love for it! :) Carmen and Baz interviewed Sakku, an artist and producer, who owns Rebell Studio. The chatroom was popping!

BAZARRO AND SAKKU

When the show ended, Carmen and I went to the store to get some snacks and talk up a taste. When we got back to Beatminerz Radio, the porch was alive with conversation. You know we blended right on in it. The conversation was heated, honest and informative but you know it turned funny as hell after a while and covered many topics. LOL

DJ JOLLIROCKA AND DJ EVIL DEE

THE CARMEN B CHILLIN  WITH MR. WALT

We had Mr. Walt, Evil Dee, DJ JolliRocka, The Carmen B, Sakku, Crazy DJ Bazarro and me, out in Bushwick kicking the Willy Bo Bo! Fun at it's finest! We didn't notice it was dark until it got chilly. I think I got home in 15 minutes on the bus.

I had some paperwork to complete for my landlord so I did that on this last day of April and promised my self, I'd finish this blog. I did. I'm happy. May is going to be bananas! Between my broken stove, my landlords crap, my orders to fill, my bills to pay, and keeping me and mine's stress levels down, and the two or three interviews I'm conducting, it's going to be bonkers... But I am SO ready! In order to progress and make positive changes, you need to step out of your comfort zone. My struggles give me strength. I've been out of my comfort zone since February, so I'm making productive moves.

As a matter of fact, I spent my time in my house Friday, May 1st because I was working so hard on paperwork, paralegal issues, lawyer memorandum and such. Getting things organized for my upcoming court dates and lawyer consultations. God Bless LIU for my paralegal knowledge. Wait til they get a load of me!

Saturday I replanted, re-potted and nurtured my seedlings on that sunny day, cooked, ate and stayed up all night listening to Jazz. I couldn't decide where to go for the fight and I KNEW who would win, so I stayed home. It'll be on next Saturday, anyway. You cats that pay for it kill me! LOL

Sunday, May 3rd, I didn't know where to go so I stayed home. But, Bushwick Radio was hype and the chatroom had me crying! Thank you, Mr. Bito for the 'Mama Bully' title. You guys are hilarious! Later on, there were too many things going on. If too many things are going on and I can't decide what to go to, I stay comfortably inside and cook, write and watch movies. Game Of Thrones, yo!

Sunday, I also decided to get back on my work out schedule. So much crazy shit is going on that I was busy writing and reading but not taking care of my physical. Full body work out throughout the day. I was sore on Monday, and like a fool, I worked out again. I went in too hard. I went to the doctor after the morning work out and my thighs were on fire the entire day. LOL Smh Come to find out, I have to take a three tests next Monday because I have been neglecting my physical. Too much too late...

MISSING PERSONS ALERT:
I just saw this cat rhyming on Bushwick Radio on Sunday on Ustream. He's been missing since Monday night. Please let someone know if you see him.

I couldn't find my wallet on Tuesday morning at 3:45am and I panicked. Why? Because I had to be in Bay Ridge by 5am. There was a special election going on and I was assigned to be a Scanner Inspector for it. I have a permanent location where I am the Coordinator for elections in Williamsburg, but they needed people who know what they're doing over there.

I left in the dark on my bike in a sweatsuit with a wife-beater underneath, and a bag full of homemade trail mix, fruit salad, pretzel sticks, a Granny Smith, a banana, some Triscuits and a 12oz Malta! I didn't know my way around and I was not going to starve while I was working. I had no idea how long the ride was but the sun was shining and no one was out. It was beautiful. I rode to Flushing to get downtown Brooklyn near Atlantic Terminal and took 4th Avenue straight up. YO! Fourth Avenue was like 4 miles alone. I didn't do the math before I left, I just got on my bike. Notice to all bike riders: Do the math before you leave to ride somewhere you've never been before... smh I rode 7.9 miles there and this was my 1st ride of the year.

The day moved slow, but so does every election. Your on call from 5am until closing at 9pm. Then you have to tally up the votes and close the machines and the leave with the police, which is usually around 10:30. We got out of there in record time, 30 minutes. I got on my bike and rode up Fort Hamilton Parkway, past the Green Wood Cemetery, up Caton Ave, left on Ocean Ave up to Empire Blvd where I got off my bike and called a special someone.

I walked my bike down Empire Blvd to Bedford Avenue, (I was NOT riding up any of those blocks from Empire because my thighs were NOT trying to feel me. They were still burning), where after hitting Eastern Parkway - the top of the hill - I got back on my ride and rode down Bedford to Willoughby to Marcy to my rest. That was another 6 miles home.

I knew Wednesday, May 6th, I'd be home, resting, gardening and stuffing my face. May 7th, I had a meeting with my lawyers. All my work was for my betterment. The lawyers said I can't lose because of my thorough paperwork. The proof is in the pudding and I got a Looooootttta chocolate!

I came home and left for Beatminerz Radio. I arrived to find Mr. Walt, DJ Evil Dee, Hakim Green, General Steele and photographer, Norris in the studio. We had a great time talking about everything from Hip Hop to Super Heroes. I guess that's why I have so many guy friends. I grew up as a tomboy and I know certain things that make it easy to have long, interesting conversations with men. Nothing sexual, purely, as a matter of fact. I won't divulge what's going on but I'll let you know that Hakim Green (Channel Live), General Steele (Smif-n-Wessun) and DJ Evil Dee (Black Moon) will be putting out some dopeness soon. Keep your eyes and ears open for that Boom Bap! Check FB!
